United Federation Of Planets TimesConstitution receives yes vote [/b]
After the polls closed the results were in, all in favor and none against. The lopsided result firmly shows the confidence nations in the region show toward this new document. This marks the start of a new era in the United Federation of Planets. Now the region is no longer operating under a “democracy by consensus” and has a model for a real government.
The first task for the constitution is to set up new government. But first a provisional government was set up with Admiral Janeway as the president, New Zimbabwe as the vice president, and Fenure as the minister of internal affairs. These positions will only be temporary as elections are expected to start later this month.

Candidacy Season Starts With the constitution now in place one of the first orders of business is to set up new government. Of course that means elections need to start later this month. Of course in order to have election the region must first have candidates. Anyone is welcome to run for public office, the only restriction is to be a nation in the United Federation of Planets.
While the full list of candidates is still being compiled, many nations have already indicated their intention to run. But if anyone is considering running the nation should remember that there is still plenty of time left to announce one’s intention to run and there are still some positions that remain unfilled altogether. The precise time of the election has yet to be determined.
So far two nations have announced their intention to run for the highest elected office in the region, the president. The first candidate is Admiral Janeway, founder of the region. The other candidate is Fenure, UN delegate for most of the regions history. However, other nations may still run. This is expected to be a close race that Times will watch closely.
The nations to announce their candidacy for the senate so far are, in no particular order: The Omega Directive, dclaro, 4hectares, Blarney Con Carne, New Zimbabwe, plus both Fenure and Admiral Janeway have both agreed that however among the two should lose could also run for the senate. Still there are plenty of senate positions to fill.
The Galactic Core Gets Invaded Old allies of the United Federation of Planets in the region The Galactic Core were invaded on June 9, 2005. The Galactic Core was an ally of United Federation of Planets by virtue of being in an alliance called The United Federation of Planets. After formalizing the alliance, relations with The Galactic Core disappeared and no one was informed when they were invaded. The invaders have identified themselves as The Jolly Roger, a pirate themed invader group whose members stay in character, with the help of The DEN, a old sort of classic group.
Currently top officials in both the United Federation of Planets and WWSETI are planning methods of resolving the situation. However, with the WWSETI government in crisis it may be awhile before help can come from them. Until then, UN nations in the United Federation of Planets are asked to volunteer for a potential operation in The Galactic Core should other methods prove impossible.
