Perhaps we could work in a bicameral legislature. Here's my idea.
There will be an elected House of Reps, like the Senate right now.
There will also be a Senate. The Senate will have at least five members. The first five will be elected; all others will be appointed by the president once a month (an exception is if the number falls below five).
Both houses (first Senate, then House) will have to pass a bill to present it to the President. If the Senate rejects a bill, the House can override the rejection with a two-thirds majority vote. If the President vetoes a bill, the bill will be sent back to the Senate, and if the Senate does not approve with a two-thirds majority, the bill will be killed with no option of override by the House.
Any comments on this?

If we were to create a bi cameral house, I would suggest running it like the US, both need to approve, only way veto can be overtunred is by 60% by both houses (insead of 66.6666%). I would be all for it, if we can get enough people to go for it. 5 in the senate, 15 in the house would be amazing.

This would definitely work, I think. It also gives other players other possible positions to run for, but it definitely needs more active people on the forum.
I'll make my draft of the telegram and post it on the other thread as promised as soon as my real life obligations settle down, hehe

My idea is more like the Canadian/British system. But are you saying that both houses will be elected?

Actually yes. See, I don't like a house appoionted by the president. I trust elections a lot more. If we can get the people active, i want that House of Reps. However, until then, we need to go JUST with a Senate. Lets givethis version a little bit more time, we havent even had the first elections yet. After a presidential cycle, we can see.
But i like the idea.

I second Janeway's advice. It's a bit early and there aren't enough active nations to consider a House at the moment. But perhaps once we get over 100 nations we can get enough people interested in helping out with regional government to consider the formation of a House.
